"Welcome to the Government Data OutPut Department, where we Connect you to your loved one in the Spiritual Realm.
About a Century ago our organization has made a technological breakthrough in making contact with the World after one's death, and since then we have been responsible for reuniting all family members and loved ones after they have passed away. We keep track of everyone's specific energy and identify them in the Spiritual Realm, and project their presence as a hologram in a Projection Room installed in every home.
To improve their life in the Spiritual Realm, make various Offerings and send them over to your loved one! Be it computers, cars, diamond rings, we are able to recreate them all. Make your loved ones happy even after death."
You are Akihiro, a protagonist struggling to find the meaning of life following the death of your loved one. After their death, you realize that your lover's Spirit is nowhere to be found, and in their place is a Spirit that claims to be you.
As you investigate into the matter, the truth of the society you have always thought you knew begins to slowly unfold. Make your choices throughout your journey and watch how your decisions shape your fate.
Hi! I'm Angelina Liu, welcome to When We Are No Longer and thanks for scrolling to the bottom of the page! This is a text-based adventure game that I have created this website/game as the conjunction of final projects for two classes: Web-based Multimedia Communications and Techno-Orientalism. The game itself is created from a software called Squiffy. As both a writer and web-developer I am still quite amateur, but I am excited to be able to incorporate web design elements to add atmosphere to the game!
This game speaks about many topics that I am personally interested in, as such the concept of humanity, the concept of sex and race defining our sense of identity, and the fantasies we may hold for technology. This game is one of those fantasies, and I hope you enjoy it!
